Meet Dr. Coker

Neysa Alice Coker is originally from Destin, Florida. She attended college at the University of Florida and received a Bachelor of Science in Nutritional Sciences, graduating with Honors. She then went on to receive her Doctor of Dental Medicine at the University of Florida College of Dentistry. During her education in Dental School, she developed a passion for Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery. This led to pursuit of Doctor of Medicine, as well as completing General Surgery Internship and residency training in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at the University of Florida. Upon completion of training, Dr. Coker came to the Atlanta area to practice her passion of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery.

Currently, Dr Coker practices broad scope Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery. This includes not only extraction of teeth and office sedation, but also includes facial trauma reconstruction and corrective jaw surgery, as well as oral pathology and dental implants. She serves as the Head of Facial Trauma for Surgical Services at Wellstar Kennestone Regional Medical Center. In addition, Dr. Coker is active with the Georgia Society or Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons. Other affiliations include Fellow of the American College of Surgeons, Diplomate of the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons, and Fellow of the American Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons. In 2013, Dr. Coker was awarded Outstanding Young Alumni for the University of Florida College of Medicine. She has also been recognized as an Atlanta Top Dentist by Atlanta Magazine.

In her spare time, Dr. Coker enjoys traveling – both domestic and international. She considers herself a “foodie”, and, for balance, is a bit of an exercise enthusiast. She enjoys attending musical events, and has an interest in art.
